hi.

the company i work for (‘Speedy Asset Services’/’Speedy Hire plc’) are taking part in the habitat for humanity ‘Big Build’ in nepal. a group of speedy employees will be travelling to nepal in october to help build homes for people in need in Dhulikhel, Kavre.

i’m not travelling but someone i work with on a daily basis will be and she has been doing various fundraising activities. i will be taking part in an ‘it’s a knockout’ (apparently a bit like ‘total wipeout’ but before i was born) style activity day at aston university in birmingham on saturday 10th june and need to raise sponsorships in advance of this as part of the fundraising action for our team.

1. THE GREAT ESCAPE.

So there’s this Feliciano vs Flatpack thing on the Saturday 12th May at the Pav Tav in Brighton, it’s totally free, you don’t need a wristband. We’ll start about 2pm and finish about 10.30pm, the lineup is now full. 2. BURN THE FLEET

I love Burn The Fleet. We always have a good time. The current issue of ROCK SOUND magazine includes the brand new Burn The Fleet album for free on the cover! It’s really good, go check it out etc. Oh and they are playing album launch shows to celebrate this.

One of them is in Southampton on Saturday 26th May at the Joiners with Apollo’s Arrows and Polio. I’m putting on the other one, it is on Friday 25th May at The Black Heart which is the best pub in Camden (legit). Apollo’s Arrows, The Dead Wretched and Bad Sign also playing. That’s cool.

3. EVERYONE EVERYWHERE

There is so much good about this band, it’s a bit emo and a bit indie and you can sing along and you can have so much fun listening to them. This August they will be coming to play in the UK for the first time ever and that rules. I’m putting this on at The Black Heart (the aforementioned best pub in the world) with my friends Steve (This Music is my Life) and Sean (Youth Camp Recs). It’s gonna be so good. It’s on Tuesday August 28th. The supports can only really come from a limited pool of bands as there aren’t many bands that all three of us agree on, and bands that the three of us can agree on must be seriously good.

Oh yeah, you’ll be there on the Friday too, yeah? All day at The Pav Tav (the same venue as the Saturday, the one with the reasonably priced drinks) is the BSM/Alcopop party. It starts in the daytime and then the bands finish at 2am and then there’s a party til 6am. And there’s like Shoes and Socks Off and Lightguides and Tall Ships and Johnny Foreigner and Delta/Alaska and Stagecoach and loads more friends and oh wow.

5. FOOLS PARADISE

Have you ever been to Harrow? I have. I’ve been a bunch of times and I’ve never been anywhere but here and I have such a good time when I go here. They’re celebrating their first birthday this month (I might buy a birthday card), so they’re having a party. Their headliner is also a secret but I definitely can’t allude to who it is on here. I think it’s announced on Thursday though so check their page.

Thanks! The recent shows we did at The Old Blue Last - with Gunning For Tamar, Jumping Ships, The Physics House Band, Delta/Alaska and the rest of the bands - were a total blast and we had more fun than is allowed (seriously). Today I’m going to the Windmill in Brixton to see Spraynard and Great Cynics and Slow Science and a bunch more bands. Here’s the thing, it’s a great show, but I really love the Windmill and I probably wouldn’t bother going if it wasn’t at The Windmill.

my sister wrote this a few weeks ago and posted it online. it has been shared around and retweeted a good amount and she has received some really positive responses to it. it’s great to read something so open like this.

i would strongly encourage anyone who has suffered from any such issues or knows anyone who has been impacted by them at any point to read this, and that is pretty much everyone really.

feel free to share this further and send any thoughts on it over, it would be really great if someone took some comfort in reading this or if it could help make the world a bit clearer to some people.

basically, the two feliciano shows this weekend (the all day summer smash in kingston, and the our lost infantry show in camden) will be my last for the forseeable future. any other shows which have been booked already have been cancelled and i will not be booking anymore.

every show i’ve done over the last three years has been great fun and i’ve met some brilliant people. unfortunately, i can no longer continue to commit my own money to this, i have no consistent job and desperately need to sort my money out, this is not a short-term thing and i will not be promoting any shows anytime soon.
